On Tuesday, July 10th, The East Cut Community Benefit District had the opportunity to present and discuss its mission in the neighborhood with a Chinese delegation visiting and studying in the Bay Area.
As part of their summer training on Sustainable Cities at Stanford University, the group of Chinese municipal and provincial officials was introduced to the (new-to-them) public/private partnership model that is San Francisco Community Benefit Districts.
Andrew Robinson, Executive Director of The East Cut CBD, presented the goals, efforts and philosophy for implementing projects in the neighborhood; while Helen Mar, Project Specialist at the Office of Workforce and Economic Development, explained the relationship between the City and Community Benefit Districts.
The 28-person group was then lead on a tour of some of the neighborhood POPOS and invited to the rooftop of 299 Fremont Street (Solaire), to end their visit with some dramatic views of this neighborhood in transition.
