Every September, the American Institute of Architects, San Francisco (AIA SF) and the Center for Architecture + Design programs a month-long Architecture in the City festival that celebrates all things architecture in #sanfrancisco. This year’s theme is “Secret City,” and to kick-off the festival, AIA SF is hosting an art exhibit that showcases the unique architectural perspectives of San Francisco’s hidden gems.
Back in May of this year, to launch our East Cut identity project, we hosted a pop-up art show that invited over 30 San Francisco-based artists to create an art poster that interpreted our new “E” logo. The posters were sold via a silent auction with proceeds going to support further art activation in The East Cut District.
We are thrilled that AIA SF has invited us to submit an East Cut art poster to their “Secret City” gallery exhibition! To align with the theme of the festival, we chose an art poster that highlights the many layers and perspectives that define The East Cut’s architectural’s landscape. Artists Karin Soukup, Terri Loewenthal and Aleya Hoerlein poster may be viewed to the left.
We hope you join us for the exhibition’s opening reception next Tuesday, August 22nd from 6:00pm – 9:00pm at 130 Sutter Street # 600. You may RSVP here.
