Where Are We?
Our neighborhood makes up the mixed-use section of Downtown San Francisco that spans Market St to Harrison St (North to South) and 2nd St to Stuart St (East to West).
For years, this area now known as The East Cut was considered part of SOMA, South Beach, or the Financial District. But as the neighborhood has transformed—with new homes, businesses, and public spaces—it has developed its own distinct identity. The East Cut represents a collective effort to define a place that is both forward-looking and deeply connected to San Francisco’s history.
From the removal of the Embarcadero Freeway to the creation of one of the Bay Area’s most concentrated residential hubs, The East Cut has undergone remarkable change. Today, the neighborhood unites the Rincon Hill, Folsom Street, and Transbay areas under a shared vision—one that honors its past while embracing a dynamic, community-driven future.
